I decided to do an 8 day body detox using the MASTER CLEANSE formula.
Lemonade Mix (makes one serving):
2 tablespoons of ORGANIC fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 tablespoons of GRADE B maple syrup
1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
8 to 10 oz of water.
2 tablespoons of GRADE B maple syrup
1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
8 to 10 oz of water.
Drink at least 6 servings a day (max 12 servings)
Morning Salt Water Flush: 4 cups of water & 2 teaspoons of sea salt
At night: Laxative tea or colon cleanse pills.
I’d heard about various celebrities doing the Master Cleanse before (ex Beyonce for her role in Dreamgirls) and I’d always thought it was just a quick fix to lose weight. I mean come on...lemons, maple syrup and cayenne pepper? It sounded to me like starvation to maintain their skinny celebrity bodies! Well a friend of mine on Facebook recently decided to do the Master Cleanse and tracked his progress in his status updates. This piqued my interest after a few days as I could see that he wasn’t about to die of lack of nourishment lol...matter of fact he felt energetic! So I probed him with a few questions, watched a few youtube links about the cleanse...even purchased a Master Cleanse book to understand more of what I’d be doing, why it’s important to cleanse, why the ingredients were chosen and the benefits.
After reading the book, I TRULY believed in the process and that the specific ingredients chosen can help cleanse the body, and also help ward of diseases. Here is a small tidbit:
1. The lemonade is to clean your body and the cells, as well as break down the mucus is your body.2. Cayenne pepper is to clean out the mucus and toxins in your body, also speeds up the metabolism.
3. Maple syrup is your fuel during the diet, also acting as a preservative to the lemons protecting its enzymes.
4. Salt flush and laxatives clean out your large & small intestine and colon.

The Master Cleanse is also designed to provide you with all the nutrients your body needs so it is not needed to take vitamins. The lemonade mixture is very high in Vitamin C, Calcium and Potassium. It is rich in Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin A and Vitamin B complexes...also containing trace levels of Folic Acid, Niacin and Amino Acids.
There is much more information that is provided in the book, I recommend getting, “The Complete Master Cleanse” by TOM WOLOSHYN (though other versions by various authors are available). It is suggested to do the cleanse 3 to 4 times a year like an oil change for your car! If we take the time to get our cars maintained, oil changed, engine flushed, tires rotated...some of us can only use premium gas in our tanks...then why not take the time to flush out the body with all the butter, grease, sugar, processed foods, mucus, acid, toxins, parasites that feed off OUR body...all this stuff that obstructs our vital organs from working as efficient, also hindering our body from absorbing all the nutrients it needs!! So for these reasons, I did not do the Master Cleanse for weight loss reasons though that was definitely a bonus (10 pounds down!), I did it to literally detox my body by giving it a nice “tune up.” :-)
